Food in Boston

The annual Boston Gardener’s Gathering is this Saturday at Northeastern, same place as last year. Free for nothing. Yet another sign that spring is on the way.

Residents of Dudley, Upham’s Corner, and Jamaica Plain have a chance to get cheap-to-free materials and assistance towards their own raised bed gardens, thanks to a new Food Project initiative. The application process is only open for two more weeks, so hop to it! This looks like a great opportunity for people new to gardening to be eased into a productive setup.

Picked the first green beans from the garden on Tuesday, and this batch was already waiting for me this afternoon. (No, these are not mutant beans; they’re on a small plate.)
